Machine Shop Labourer

Overview/Position:

The Machine Shop Labourer supports the day-to-day operations of the Machine Shop. This role operates machinery and equipment and performs a variety of manual tasks such as machine support, basic assembly, and general housekeeping.

Responsibilities:

  • Assemble plugs, stems, and other components to support production.
  • Assist machinists with minor machining tasks.
  • Unload incoming materials and supplies from trucks.
  • Cut materials using appropriate tools and equipment.
  • Empty chip bins and manage scrap material disposal.
  • Operate shop equipment including bandsaw, arbor press, and drill press.
  • Operate forklift and overheard crane.
  • General housekeeping to maintain a clean shop.
  • Assume other duties as assigned.

Order Picker

Overview/Position:

The Order Picker is responsible for accurately picking and verifying parts for shipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Pick and verify parts against packing slips to ensure order accuracy.
  • Prioritize picking tasks based on customer ship dates and courier or freight pickup schedules.
  • Review order number lists to confirm any outstanding shipments.
  • Use Kinetic ERP to check inventory, generate packing slips, print labels and transfer parts.
  • Operate forklift to move skids and load trucks.
  • General housekeeping of picking and shipping areas.
  • Complete associated paperwork and documents accurately.
  • Assist with shipping and other duties as assigned.

Inventory Associate

Overview/Position:

The Inventory Associate picks and distributes parts to production staff, assists the Inventory Parts Lead with the organization and control of parts in the inventory area, and supports all inventory warehousing activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform inventory cycle counts in the inventory area.
  • Pick parts and work order items by hand or with parts picker/forklift for production staff.
  • Review and make corrections on work order items.
  • Bag parts and stock accordingly e.g., making parts kits.
  • Sort, move and organize inventory.
  • Use of handheld RF unit for ERP functions.
  • Ensure inventory area is clean and tidy.
  • Wash parts and break down crates.
  • Handle paperwork.
  • Assume other duties as assigned.
